Services

Yeh and Associates provides a full range of geotechnical engineering services to assist our clients through the course of their projects, from preliminary site evaluation to investigations and design and throughout the construction process. Yeh and Associates provides services for projects throughout the United States, including commercial and public buildings, highways and roadways, bridges, tunnels, airports, parking structures, railroads, dams and flood control structures, military facilities, and other public and private works. In general, our services are provided in these phases of the project,
Site Investigation,
Recommendations and Design, and
Post Design and Construction.
Yeh’s in-depth knowledge of drilling methods allows the firm to realistically scope the
geotechnical investigations and efficiently complete subsurface exploration program in any setting. Yeh engineers and geologists have worked extensively throughout the western US in site settings from heavy urban traffic

corridors to remote rugged mountain environments. Yeh’s project work provides the advantage of experienced personnel who know the geotechnical properties of a wide variety of geologic conditions, both soils and rock, and how these conditions apply to design and construction of roads, bridges, tunnels, retaining walls, dams and buildings. Our investigations are coordinated between the field and office staff in order that the results of the investigation provide the professional staff with the thorough understanding of the site subsurface conditions, allowing them to provide effective recommendations and designs for
foundations,
slopes,
ground improvements,
retaining walls and mitigation measures for
geologic hazards.
In addition to the traditional investigation services, the firm provides engineering design services for
retaining walls,
ground improvement,
pavements,
landslide stabilization and
rockfall mitigation. Yeh is highly experienced in remediation of landslides and rockfall problems, and an expert in the most current retaining wall design practices.

Yeh provides innovative geotechnical solutions for context sensitive settings. Our project experience has included work ranging from erosion control to major cut and fill slope designs to active mitigation of landslides in project settings from high altitude alpine tundra to sensitive desert environments to historic structures and features. Throughout the projects, Yeh has worked closely with federal, state and city agencies to effectively address the project needs while mitigating impacts to the site environment and meeting interested party’s requirements.
One of the keys to a successful construction project is good field control of construction materials by
construction observation and
materials testing. Yeh’s staff of field technicians and inspectors provides quality control/quality assurance materials testing for projects of varying size and complexity. Yeh’s senior inspectors have also provided our clients with site
construction management services, either independently or working seamlessly as part of the client’s construction team.

Our technicians are trained and certified to provide a full range of field material testing services, including nuclear testing for soil density/moisture, pavement density control, asphalt content, and concrete design compliance. Yeh encourages and continually sends its technicians for training and certifications under various different programs such as, NICET, WAQTC, CAPA, ACI, and CDOT.
Post design services we provide include: value engineering, project scheduling and proposal review, attendance at pre-construction meetings, materials and design RFI submittal response, Certificate of Compliance (COC’s) review, shop drawing and false work review and claims resolution. Our services also include installation and monitoring of
instrumentation for evaluation of the long-term performance of landslides, stabilization measures, and earthen structures and elements.
